Collection: How to Support Conservation Programs

The ReShark program focuses on releasing endangered leopard sharks to augment numbers in Raja Ampat to achieve a viable population.

Since 2022, RARCC and YMER have been receiving fertilized leopard shark eggs from reputable aquariums around the world. The hatched pups are raised by dedicated shark nannies for several months until the leopard sharks surpass one meter, at which time they are released into the wild.

Over the past year, not only have there been reported re-sightings of the released baby leopard sharks, but there has also been an increase of wild-born adult leopard sharks around the Dampier Strait and Southeast Misool.

You can support this program by purchasing any ReShark merchandise from Sea Connection Art, featuring original leopard shark designs by Simone Tomazela. Profits go towards supporting the StAR Project through Thrive Conservation, as the official Indonesian fiscal sponsor for the initiative.
